Week 5, or “The big boys muscling you out of the trough again?”- Shoresy

The Big Boys. We have noticed a trend lately. 2 Big City Bullies have been running roughshod over our league. The show up to one draft, eat all the food, draft perfect teams then sit in the fancy houses in their fancy neighborhoods and gorge on inferior fantasy squads. Nizzle and TBIAC have definitely pushed the rest from the trough, for now. FFL is a long season, many twists and turns. But through 5 games…. It’s been Pigg Suuuuueeeyyyy!

Let’s get to it…

Well, I guess we have to talk about it. The Basement Bowl. We were all planning on seeing this in week 18 for the right to house the Sacko in their home for a full year (or multiple years for these two😂). Trey came out on fire and Reba gave up immediately only scoring 91, which is better than her previous 75. But a loss is a loss and Pigg takes home the victory on the first of many meetings between these two mediocre teams.

DFUN tried to end his losing streak, mostly from missing half his team to injuries and yet STILL denying all trade efforts and sticking with his beleaguered team. Unfortunately he ran into the buzz saw named TBIAC. 158-124. Valiant effort, but the Capt, and Nizzle (more to come) seem invincible right now.

Big D visiting LO in the Danny Devito (short joke) Stadium. Both teams have had some ups and downs this season. But this one came down to the Def/ST. Diesel got 17 from the SF K Pineiro and 5 from, you guessed it, the SF Def. Steph countered with 5 from Elliot and a -4 from the vaunted SEA D. Game over 137-112.

In the game of the week the Cats hosted the agrarian football guru Nizzle. Tight game all Sunday. JTaylor 31, Egbuka 31. Amon 18, JSN 27. Cats go into MNF with an 11 point lead and only Kelce left to play. What could go wrong for the kittens? 4 catches for 25 yards by Kelce. Cats WIN! Nope. One of those was a TD. Kelce hits 11.3 points Cats lose (no one cares but Kelce ended the night with 7 for 51 and a TD. It’s called artistic license). Nizzle escapes 139-131 in one of his worst weeks (tough problem to have).

Here we are again, end of week 5. Nizzle has taken the dreaded #1 spot with the #1 points scored. This has always been the kiss of death on the playoffs. But, as discussed before, we are a long way from Playoffs? Playoffs? Keep your heads down, keep working and for the love of all that is holy, make a trade!
