Week 3… or “fight me, see what happens-Shoresy”

Week 3 is done and it was a doozie. Last second wins and losses, jubilation and sadness. Some continue to climb the FFL mountain, others have stumbled and one took a flying header off of Mt Sacko (you only get one tiny guess😂). What we do know is that every season has its challenges. Some guys fall off, some emerge, some just suck (Cowboys). But we carry on, making changes, waivers, trades (🤣). The FFL gods are fickle and if you don’t believe this humble sports journalist than look at this-

It was a great week of matchups and we are all looking forward to week 4 (maybe not everyone). But this is the week 3 recap for TISB, so let’s see who was ready for a fight and see what happened!!!

.

AintReba, undefeated (still the hardest words ever written) took on TBIAC, also undefeated. Ali vs Frazier, McEnroe vs Connor, Brady vs Manning, Caitlyn vs Angel…it was NOT. 167-114. AintReba is running wild! Highest point total and un-lossed. Lamar 25, DHenry 30, Kmet 25, Metcalf 20 and on and on and on. The Capt tried to hang in with the diminutive FFL heavyweight but Evans 7, Hill 5 (suffering from no “Hawk” Tua) and McBrides 5 made the judges tally as one sided as the score. Can this continue? Will AintReba go undefeated and set the single season scoring record (unofficial records say the Cats scored 49,322 points in 2019), or return to her natural level at the bottom of the league? We shall see…

.
Big D took on the fighting Nizzles at the UPS Bowl in downtown Lewisville (otherwise known as the Brown Bowl). Two formidable (?) opponents fighting for the right to lose in the first round of the playoffs! This should be mildly interesting to watch! It wasn’t. 132-103. ARich looks like a bust, Andrew’s may be cooked (like Kelce) and Pittman has to try to catch flying ducks from ARich. The unbreakable Tucker looks broke and the BAL D looks like the ‘Boys. Diesel’s team protected Brown Town with 27 from Goedert (who according to this writers wife, looks like the Geico Caveman). Mahomie only tossed for 16 but Breece and Hubbard (??) totaled 45. Another beat-down for the high rolling Highland Park squad!
.

And now to the interesting games of the week! In our first Faaaammmmiiilllyyy Feeeeeuuuudddd of the season, DFUN traveled all the way north to the frozen tundra of Pigg stadium. These two reallllly hate each other and it showed on Sunday and even more on MNF! Dak tossed 29 in another embarrassing loss, Montgomery 21, JJeff 20, Amon 20 and rookie sensation Nabers 28 , put DFUN in the lead. Pigg fired back with 20 from Moss, Harris stumbled and rumbled for 13, Cooper snagged 27 and 26 combined from Butker and PHI. Monday morning DFUN 145 Pigg 122. Then Josh Allen took the field on MNF and ran wild, scoring 30.92. 152-145 final. Heartbreaking loss for DFUN and redemption for Pigg! Both are now in family counseling (doesn’t look good). Side note- how in the world did DFUN get JJeff, Amon and Nabers? And still lose?? Amazing…

.
And in this weeks finale, the winless Laces Out hosted the Cats at her tiny lil stadium. The Cats were looking to bounce back from an embarrassing loss to Nizzle last week and LO was fighting for her first win of this season. Both QBs were disappointing, Conner and Steven’s both failed their coaches. then Bijan ran for 13 for the Cats, but AJones rumbled for 25. Cats answered with 29 from Rice and 14 from Wilson. LO finished Sunday with London grabbing 18. So on to Monday night. Score 106-99 with Kincaid and Etienne for the league’s favorite team, the Cats, and 97 for lowly low LO and Jamar Chase. Game over. Not even close. Etienne gets 12 and Kincaid 13 totaling 131. Chase starts catching every single pass, running and jumping and frolicking (maybe not frolicking) around the field. Bengals are down, time running out and they get one more chance and LO is ALIVE! 8 plays, 3 in the end zone….none to Chase. Cats win by 3.5. Hallelujah! (At least for the sweet sweet kittens of the ceiling) LO loses a tough one and remains un-winned , Cats go above .500 for the first time this year.

So week 3 is in the books! Some great, last second, heartbreaking, jouful moments were had. More to come for sure. AintReba is on top at 3-0, TBIAC, CCats and BD at 2-1, DFUN, Nizz, Pigg are 1-2. Plenty of time to fight and claw for that “one inch”, that last push, that playoff run. Lots of FFL to be played. Injuries and busts and old age (Andrew’s) and TSwift (Kelce) and concussions and…… Welcome to This Is Serious Business!!!

Roll credits….

More credits…

LO is 0-3

The end.

Till next week…
