It’s that magical, sad time of the year. Christmas brings family and friends together for a day while FFL brings family and friends together for months. Both will be gone soon. There will be happy memories from both, and bad ones (LGB passing out at the table from too much eggnog, BD destroying his tv while watching the Niners, Nizzle02 dressing up as Ebenezer Scrooge, again). But memories have been made, stories to be told and overall, fun had by all, mostly. Thanks for fighting and clawing and cheating all season long… we have a good group of team owners. Let’s get to week 16 in “This is Serious Business”!

AintReba hosted LO for the third installment of “Catfight”. LO, after a strange and disappointing week 15 was looking for revenge over Nashvilles favorite singer/songwriter, one to escape the Sacko Bowl and second, revenge for stealing her RB in the mirror world debacle that caused LO to lose to the resurgent (on the last week of the season) Cats. Soooo, a lot at stake, tempers we’re high and the claws were out! 132-72. Terrible game. AintReba, despite looking all season as if she could not bear to lose her trophy, came out swinging her tiny little fists and connected with an early haymaker. Josh Allen 20, DSmith 23, Higbee (?) 21 and Lenny rumbled for 16. LO countered feebly with Patterson 3, Z Jones, 1 and Herbert 5. Game over, AintReba is out of contention. LO looks towards next week in her final opportunity to not add her name, again, to the most beautiful trophy in all FFL sports.

This will be remembered for decades as the worst championship game ever. 91-70. The #1 seed and #1 scorer got 70 freaking points. The winner, LGB, would have lost every other game played this week. Terrible.

Will Pigg rebound in his first playoff appearance? Will Vita-Mites take home the bronze in his first season and first playoff appearance? Cousins battled Minshew, Mixon versus Saquon, Sanders ran with Cook. JJeff caught balls against Godwin. DST went completely to VM with 23 total and Pigg only 13. But, Gerald Everet (?) took home a big fat ZERO and Dawson Knox had 38yds and a TD for 9. That was the difference, a freaking TE!!! A reminder that every play, every player can be the difference between wining and losing. Pigg takes 3rd place and a cash prize, VM falls to fourth and gets a coupon for a walking tour of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, reality star’s only. Sooo, that should be fun.

In the Lock of the Week, TBIAC draws the easy out that is known as DFUN. Predicted to win by 13, the Greenville Avenue Gangsta strolled into Denton ready for revenge. He did not get it. DFUN exploded for 126 points even with his RB Drake scoring 0. TBIAC had a good game from Goff and KingHenry and that is it. Shocker!! DFUN leaves the Sacko Bowl and TBIAC has one week to prepare his team for the angry little owner LO. Whatever happens next week, it’ll be more exciting than our so called championship game🤣

So, we are down to two team, vying for the title of Sacko Bowl Champion (actually the loser, but winner in that they get the trophy, the painting which will be displayed prominently in their house for an entire year and their named engraved for all history to remember). Good Luck and Godspeed to both.

It’s playoff season, my how time has flown by. Remember when LO was on an epic win streak? When VM looked like he might shoot to #1? When DFUN won that game? When Pigg realized he might go to the winners playoffs for the first time (that was last week btw)? Well, we are here, bittersweet, but all great FFL season have to have a conclusion. Someone goes home happy and someone takes home the Sacko and is happier! Skill and knowledge is a must, but the FFL gods are fickle, and every week is a new season. It’s go time for every team. Survive and advance, or in Sacko case, survive and exit. Week 1 of the playoffs have happened, let’s get to it….

In the best game of the week, Pigg v Nizzle02. Piggs first playoff appearance, Nizz #1#1. As we have seen soooooo many times this year, it was D/ST that made the difference. Pigg had Joe Cool with 22 and JJeff 18. Nizz got 9 from Danny Dimes and 2 from DAdams. Pigg ran Mixon for 5 and Sanders for a fat zero. The #1 #1 got 11 from Jacobs and 10 for Pollard. Flex went to Montgomery 21 over AJones 16. 75-64 Pigg. McPherson kicked 9 versus Carlsons’s 7. Sooooo, 84-71. Will Pigg survive and advance? No. CAR D scores 1, Nizz’s DEN D 15 big ones. Final 85-86 in a soul crushing first round knockout. The dreaded #1#1 moves on, Pigg falls to consolidation round.

In a shootout LGB hosted VM in a terribly small stadium in a suburb somewhere no one cares about. Both QBs went off, Hurts for 34 and Fields 23. RBs Saquon 18, Dillon with a shocking 19. Cook 23 CMC 19. Theses two were going at it!! 100-96 VM at the end of position players. Here we go again with the DST. The Cali newcomer had PHI D with 12. LGB had 19 from GB (also a shock). Soooo, LGB with a one point lead. Kicker time- Gould 3, Maher 12. Game over. 127-115. LGB moves on to face Nizzle02 and VM faces off with Pigg for the 2nd loser trophy.

After coming so close to the winners bracket, TBIAC falls to the Sacko Bowl Tournament to face Big Diesel who also had dreams of championships . Both had good teams that just fell short. Luck? Bad luck? FFL Gods displeasure. Yes. Not much of a game. 119-91. Mahomey 30, Zeke 13, Kittle 21 vs Goff 14, DHenry 22 and ABrown 18. But Def was the big difference this week. SF 15 SEA 0. BD is out and TBIAC goes on to the second round of the Sacko Bowl.

After a weird alternate universe waiver wire snafu, little LO faced off with the all time wins leader CeilingCats in a revenge game from last week. Winner exits the Sacko playoffs, loser moves on. A mirror version of the league had to be made to create the playoff bracket. It was a trial run on one team (not LO) and it worked. Unfortunately it also made a schism in time where a player was picked up on waivers by two teams in two alternate universes. Usually this wouldn’t matter at all because the waivers are done by week 3 in this league. But as luck will prove out, it might have. Cats v LO. Geno 15, Herbert 8. JConner 15 Ekeler 13. Najee 14 Patterson 11. Chase 12 Tyreek 12. Evans 8 Wadle 17. Taysom 10 Friermuth 0. Etienne 10 Lockett 6. Easy win. JTuck kicks 5 and Bass gets 6. Easy win. DAL Def -1 ARI Def 11. Not so easy win 90-87. The player in question in the weird alternate universe was JMckinon, who AintReba got and LO lost. He scored 26. Luck? Bad luck? Collusion? No. Nothing nefarious, just a technical snafu. AintReba would have gotten McKinnon in waivers due to priority, because she is terrible 🤣 but still an unfortunate event. LO will try to exit the Sacko Bowl next week against her now nemesis AintReba in an epic week 16 Grlz FIGHT!

Week 16 will see the two most hated teams play one another (Nizzle02 v LGB) for the big ugly trophy and Pigg travels to the beach to take on VM for the consolation prize. DFUN and AintReba reenter the contest after their one week punishment and take on surprise contestant TBIAC and not so surprising LO. Should be a fun week, stay warm, light a fire and don’t forget to pray to Shiva to deliver you a FFL W!

They don’t hate to lose.

In a game that didn’t matter, this game proved to matter less than that. Nizzle02 107-79 over DFUN. Niz goes into the playoffs in the dreaded #1 seed with the most points scored. Dreaded. Yes. No #1 #1 has ever won the tournament. Is this the year? Will DFUN take home the Sacko? Is this his year? We will find out!

LO breaks her second half of the season slide with a big win over the sad Cats 111-98. But still goes back home, aka, the Sacko Bowl where she will meet the Cats again in week one of the Losers bracket. Easy win again? Or revenge game for the all time wins leader Cats? Who will float and who will “fill em in”. The Sacko will sort it out next week.

Pigg, high on playoff fever, got a wake up call from our Sacko Queen, AintReba 104-101. Pigg stays in the Winners bracket but lost precious seeding while Reba will have a bye week as punishment for being on the bottom, as usual.

The new guy, Vina-Mites, laying on a chaise lounger under his coastal cabana drinking a nice Rose from Napa slid into the Playoffs knocking off early season favorite TBIAC, 88-72. With both teams fighting for a spot on the Winners side, they both just floated in to week 14 and the final score reflects that.

The current Champ (contested) LGB took on Big Diesel looking to solidify the #2 spot while BD was fighting to get into the tourney. It was a real Dawg fight till the end, but LGB got the W and the playoff spot will Diesel gets sent down to relegation hell.

Sooooo, the regular season is over. Playoffs and the Sacko Bowl are upon us. 4 teams in, 6 fighting to not take home the most famous trophy in FFL history (and the worst painting in the world, dogs playing poker on black velvet). Let’s all thank the Commish for fighting through our platform change, our dumb questions and for screwing up the last week with some alternate version of our league (if you don’t know don’t worry about it, we persevered🤣). If you haven’t paid, please do (not sure I have, was planning on winning it all as usual 😩)

The winners bracket will be Nizz v Pigg and LGB v VM in week one. In the Sacko Bowl, DFUN and AintReba will take a bye week while Laces Out hosts the Ceiling Cats and TBIAC welcomes Big Diesel. Don’t forget the Saturday games, get your team ready and start hating to lose! This is Serious Business 2022!

One week left in the Regular season and the “W’s” are hard to come by and playoff seating is taking shape. Satan, aka Nizzle02 is in, Pigg and LGB are fighting for 2nd, VM and TBIAC are fighting to remain in the bracket. Diesel and Laces Out still have a chance but will need a lot of help. Cats are out, DFUN and AintReba still in a scramble for last place and the #1 seed in the Sacko Bowl. Sooooo, a lot going on, wheels are turning and the pressure is rising quickly. Who’s going to step up in these last two regular season games (history does not favor LO)? Who is going to choke away a chance at the promised land (again LO)? But this is why we play the games! Lets see what happened last week and what it sets up for week 14….

LGB, fighting for the 2nd seed, fending off Pigg, needed a big W and got an even bigger L. Nizzle02, already clinched, showed off his dominance by NOT playing a QB and still winning by 63. Pollard 22, DAdams 29 and a ridiculous 42 from the CLE Def (wtf?) was waaaaayyyy too much for the end-of-season- collapsing LGB. Edwards continued to be a sleeper agent, scoring only 1, Walker III got hurt, Higbee is a TE, which means he sucks, 1, and worst of all, he didn’t have the CLE Def. Nizz continues to roll while LGB will be looking to end his horrific losing streak (1 in a row).

In a battle of “no one cares” the Commish greeted the Cats late Sunday night with “Condolences on your loss” with a lead and rookie superstar Olave yet to play. The Cats only had a TE (we know what that means) and Deebo playing with a 9th string QB. Not looking good. But the CeilingCats don’t quit (unlike LGB’s squad) and went to work. Deebo stole 6 big point to put the Cats up 1 with the MNF game to go. Olave vs TE Hill. Olave caught 65 from the Red Rocket. Hill then caught 35. And passed for 21. And rushed for 10. If you’re doing math in public, I’ll help out…it’s tied. Then Hill scored. Ball game Cats! The team then lifted their coach onto their shoulders and carried him off the field victoriously! Or something like that…

In an absolute must win for both teams, only one showed up. 126-80, the team from the frozen North rolled. 30 from Joe Cool, Watson continued his heater with 21 and GWilson caught 16. The Capt was done as soon as Lamar went down with an injury and KingHenry stumbled for 3. Reeeeeaaaaallll hard to rally from that start. So Pigg should have a fairly relaxing week 14 while TBIAC will have a few sleepless nights trying to put his team back together in time to make the Winners Bracket.

Laces Out, trying to stop a late season slide hosted Hollywood Leading Man, Vina-Mites. Again, both need the win to have a chance. But, again, only one showed up to play. 133-90, LO’s streak continues. For the West Coast Wonder, Hurts 34, Saquon 14, St Brown snagged 23 and K Gould booted 12. LO watched Herbert fail again, Ekeler didn’t score a TD and Waddle pulled off a big fat zero. VM will go into the finale fighting for a seat at the table. LO will put the blindfold back on and set up next weeks roster.

Big Diesel, in a must win, gets the cellar dweller, AintReba in a fortuitous matchup. The Siren of Signal Calling hasn’t won a game in about three years. Almost sounds like a trap game. It was. AintReba tripled her weekly average by scoring 98 points behind DK’s 18, Samaji’s 15 and Gallup with 15. Diesel’s team came in overconfident and badly coached! Kittle struggled with the 9th string QB, Thielen is old, Cooper was Cooper and Mahomey was a mere mortal. Painful game to watch for us and even more painful for BD to watch his playoff hopes and dreams crushed by a team that has 4 empty spots on her roster, but for some reason has decided to keep Jamycal Hasty on the team. 🤔 but a win is a win, or for Diesel…..welcome to the Sacko Bowl!

Week 14 is upon us. The regular season is ending and playoff season is coming up quickly. As a refresher, the top 4 go to the Winners Bracket and play week 15 and 16. Nobody really cares because this league is alllll about the Sacko, the most beautiful trophy in all make believe sports competitions!! The seeding is different but amazing. 10 and 9 are the top seeds and will get a bye the first week (don’t worry, this is not an advantage). The other 4 will play week 15 with the 2 winners exiting the Loser tournament. The losers of week 15 will play 10 and 9 in week 16, with the winners again exiting. Leaving the two absolute worst teams to tickle fight for the Sacko Championship. Winner exits and the loser takes home the hardware (in AintReba’s case, just go home and dust it off for another off season).

Week 14 outlook- Nizz is #1. Pigg and LGB at 8-5 , VM and TBIAC 7-6. Pigg plays AintReba, so he should (?) go to 9-5. Diesel will look to spoil LGB’s dreams and put him at 8-6, or win and go to 9-5. In the big one, VM hosts TBIAC with the winner going 8-6 and the loser joining the rest of us in the bracket of shame! Then when the scores are over and the wins are tallied up, the Commish will have to go to the tie breaker rules…Points scored. Currently Pigg has 1406, LGB 1375, VM 1440 and TBIAC 1352. So these teams need to win and win BIG! 14 weeks all coming down to the last second and maybe even the last point! This is why we play the game….

Week 12 is over (to be truthful week 13 just finished, but we will save that for later). As previously written erroneously, the bye weeks were not over (fuck me) but are now (maybe?). 7 teams have a real chance at the 4 spots in Valhalla (plus the darkest horse team #8 Cats). Pigg is on a heater, LO is ice cold and LGB and TBIAC are holding strong, but not dominate. Scoring is tight for those teams looking at a tie situation soooo bring out your best. The Commish finally figured out the playoff bracket so we won’t be doing it on a napkin like last year (😁). Let’s get to week 12 in “This is Serious Business”…

As the picture shows…. Pigg 114 LO 94. In a near MUST win for both, Pigg steamrolled into the victory behind MSanders 28 and JJeff’s 20. The petite pugilist punched back with her tiny fists of fury behind Herbert’s 26 (finally) Locketts 12 and Ekeler’s 14. But, this week it wasn’t near enough. Our Northern Yankee team owner is making a furious run for his first Winners Bracket while LO is beginning her yearly losing streak, fighting her way back to the Sacko Bowl that she knows so well.

TBIAC 111 Big Diesel 100 in a well played game from two teams trying to reach the promised land. The Capt had Lamar run/pass for 21, Chubb rumble for 18 and KingHenry 11. BD had Mahomey tossed only 18, Pacheco (?) 14 and Thielin (?) 12. Special teams were huge again with Diesel getting 19 and 13 from the Niners and Sanders, but that just made the game closer, not close. Big win, painful loss.

AintReba loses a close one to her archnemesis LGB 86-83. Josh Allen 29 but Fournette 0. KC Def 19 but Lutz K 0 for the Nashville SuperStar. LGB countered with 14 from Dak, Walker III 15 and Tee Hig 17. Not sure how this dumpster fire of a game was soooo close and yet even more boring, but it was. We are all FFL dumber for having watched it.

130-76 Nizzle02 stays on a heater. 11 in a row if you’re counting at home. Yes, he did sell his soul to the Devil, and knowing Nizz, he came out on top of the deal. Kyler tossed 25 and Jacobs (mind blowing) 42. More than enough to defeat the CeilingKittens…..again.

112-74 Vina-Mites easily sends DFUN down to Davey Jones’ Locker (nautical humor). Hurts 29 DHop 14 and Amon St Brown 18 was just too much for DFUN’s 0.2 from Drake, 5.3 McLaurin and Raaaaaawwwwwdddddjjjjaaaaass 9.5. VM stays in contention for the winners Bracket, the Commish stays in contention for the Sacko, as usual.

Week 12 is over, there is 2 games difference between 6 teams all trying to win. Last place looks like an even more fierce battle between DFUN and AintReba. Neither looks like they are giving this loss up without a fight (?) or win (?) They both suck (!) Either way, these next few weeks will be stressful and painful and exhilarating. It’s all we can ask for to have such a competitive group body slamming each other every week. Great job, keep it up and let’s go FFL’ing…
