Week 3 or “God Bless fantasy football. There are many things a man (or woman or Todd) can do with their free time…this is better than those things” -Pete

Week 3 is in the books! WE DID IT!! We’ve flattened the curve! We’ve defeated the Pandemic! Life is NORMAL!!!

Breaking news… We have just found out about our first Rona outbreak in Tennessee and Minneapolis (stupid town, stupid people). Hopefully we can just shoot them and move on with the important things in life…FFL and bars🥳. No one knows what will happen but we can all do what TBIAC tells me almost everyday during these trying times. “Pray for those poor, sad bastards who don’t have a FFL family and God Bless President Trump”…or something to that effect. I think he was drunk.

Enough talk (discord was reeeeeeallll quite this week by the way) let’s get to the games…

The Commish, despite taking 100 points from the Cats, had his FFL battleship sunk 127-112! That means the Cats scored 227 points this week, a world record! Congrats to the owner and Head Coach of the winning team! The -100 penalty was for an unflattering description of the Commish’s dumpster-fire team but mostly for buying the plaque with DFUN printed on it for the Sacko winner of 2020-2021. In response, the Cats GM said “just saving time”. In a surprisingly close game (when started at -100) the Commish did all he could to take down his archenemy. The GOAT had 23, Gurley-man 14 and no injury, Mike Davis, a good waiver pick up ran for 14, Kupp 16 and DHop 13. But on Monday night, Ingram fell short with only 3 points sealing the loss. Cats got 24 from last weeks waiver wire pickup Robinson, 16 from K Crosby and 27 large ones from the WAIVER Wire Pickup of the Week, the Indy Def. And bu the way, there was a discount for ordering the plaque this early, just sayin.

Another Biz loss, 114-93 to TBIAC, but a vast improvement from the first two weeks in scoring. Biz may be ramping up to take the second half of the season, we shall see. Wentz 21, Sanders 10, Gallup 19 and his third Eagle, K Elliot 14. Duds from KJohnson 2, 6 from DMoore and 3 from the Broncos D was enough to earn another loss. TBIAC, as usual, had a great game. 36 from Russ, 22 from the Chubb, 11 Hunt and 18 grabs by A Robinson III. With Russ on your team, as the Cowboys and everyone else has seen this season, you are in trouble!
133-109. Tough loss for New Tanner. Too bad she didnt play DSVP, Pigg, Niz and of course IamBetter because she would have pulled a W. Rrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaawwwwwwwdddddjjjjjjaaaassss with 24, D Henry 24, Ekeler 19, Allen 17,and UNT alum Jeff Wilson Jr with 18 big ones! Stephanie fought back with 26 and 11 from her ‘Boys, 20 from Connor, 16 and 12 at WR and 19 large from the TB Def, but Julio Jones, being injured and unable to play was in the starting lineup. Injured. Unable to play. Zero points. Painful lesson to learn. Some Sundays (or Mondays, spoiler for next week) just aren’t your day!
Grider 118-104 over DSVP. No surprise here when a former Champ takes on the 11 time Sacko trophy winner (winner?). Lamar stumbled for only 13 but Dalvin rumbled for 23, Lockett and Metcalf crushed the ‘Boys with 43 combined and the Cle D with 13. Chiefs Dawg countered, badly, with an embarrassing 11 from Matty Ice, 11 from rookie J Taylor, 15 from the “cheetah” and a wasted 30 from Kamara (shouldn’t be long before his yearly injury). Grider, as usual looks like a contender, DSVP looks like he is just hanging onto the middle, which is an improvement from his 14 other Sacko winning seasons😘. On a good note, everyone at Grider FFL Inc still has a job, for now…

In this weeks finale, a big showdown between the newbie and the Yankee, Pigg 102 IamBetter 70. This writer double checked, and yes, IamBetter did have players in each slot and they participated (though that is up for discussion seeing their totals). Mahomie 39, AJones 13, CGodwin 12 and the third place waiver wire pickup of the week, D Henderson 17, was more than enough to sink the rookie. Big Ben paced the IamBetter team with 19 and waiver wire pickup Jerrick McKinnon ran for 12 before his inevitable injury. No one else broke double digits, much like the team hasn’t seen triple digits yet this season. Boooooooooorrrrrrriiiinnnnnngggggg!

As we look forward to week 4 (hopefully), there is another waiver wire to fill holes, more injuries to fight through, more moves to make. There are 6 teams tied for first and the last team is only 2 games out. Loooooooooonnnnngggggg way to go, so keep your head up, make some moves (not with TBIAC) and remember that there are many thing we can do with our time, and FFL is , by far, the most important. Stay gold Pony-Boy….. stay gold…
